Judgment for recognition

A judgment for recognition is one of the so-called contumacy decisions that a court may issue if the defendant expressly acknowledges the claim or is not sufficiently procedural active and does not respond in a timely manner to a qualified judicial challenge. The judgment for recognition is then issued by the court if, within the imposed period (at least 30 days), the defendant does not comment on the claim asserted by the action.
